In a Treeful Mood

Happy Easter. Happy Earth Day. Happy Spring. Happy Life!

It seems I had trees on my mind today:

Mushroom Forest

And:

I Sea a Tree

For Mother:

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

     - by Joyce Kilmer

This is one of my favorites too.

What a lovely lovely post. And I too, love that poem. Your drawings get better and better! The first one, (sans mushrooms) looks very much like our woods. The second one made me laugh out loud! Your little fantasy creatures are so whimsical! I am glad to see the different colored papers. Very nice!!!

Thank you. Your encouragement is very important to me. My collection is growing and when it is ready I'll make the move to marketing. This is the most joyful thing I've ever done, and to actually sell my designs would be - well - immense!

The first time some one who is NOT a friend or family buys a piece of your work will be the best day ever!

Love these two also. You are so prolific some weeks. I think those are also your happiest weeks! Sooooo, keep putting them up on your blog while you seek out the 'first' place to submit them. I think if you just do a little internet searching, and find a show you like, then break that thin layer of ice and ENTER! You really are that good, Carol!! So pick 1 or 2 that like the best, and get them framed, and DO IT! We all know that your work is ready. You will see.
