Water - "over the dam" and Otherwise

I love this picture. When I spend a few minutes focused on it I can actually feel my breath slow down and my muscles relax.

Same thing with this one:
But water is a funny thing. It can be beautiful,

Relaxing

Life giving

Dangerous.

I found the following quote about water:  "What is harder than rock, or softer than water? Yet soft water hollows out hard rock. Persevere."
– Ovid

Of course, Ovid was talking about life, and how we approach life's problems.

Anyway, it's not surprising that two of my latest drawings are on a water theme:

Terror

Beauty
Aside from contributing to the Red Cross, there's not a whole lot more I can do for the people in Japan. The past two weeks have been unbelievably hard for them.

By comparison, I've got nothing to complain about.

And I have much to be thankful for.

My back is fine, but it seems I picked up a respiratory infection on the plane or somewhere. This too shall pass....(sigh).

Good news on the back. The other will eventually disappear.
Mom has been playing around with the same respiratory thing. She is doing ok though. I think it came from the waiting room at the hospital. Those places have EVERYTHING in them!
Today we picked up a magnifier that you wear around your neck. Looks like it is going to work for her, Now she can read the paper AND drink coffee at the same time. Who knew..:)

Love your drawings. ... you really do wear your heart on your sketchbook, don't you?! What sad and poignant sentiments ... in words and drawings. Love for the world!! Love, love, love - you and your giant heart!
